What's wrong with Britain?

Why is it today that people in British society rejoice so often in being a victim?

From the so called highest to the lowest each and every man and woman will scream for not only their entitlement but for sympathy and understanding. Gordon Brown has recently staked his claim to victimhood regarding what he says is unethical reporting of his family. This is denied by The Sun newspaper. This is Britain today; an ex-Prime Minister is, however, not the only one to milk tea and sympathy.

As I understand it the Victorians were rarely like this were they? So what has happened to modern day Elizabethans?

At root my guess is that people today feel helpless and hopeless in an alien world and incomprehensible universe. It has always been like this of course but unlike the Victorians people no longer have a fixed moral compass for guidance.

That compass has been stolen by the Liberal Left who have claimed the moral high ground ever since. From a Left Liberal perspective the British are to blame for much of the ill in this world. Even a Tory, David Cameron, recently jumped on this guilt ridden bandwagon and saidthat the British ought to be ashamed of their history, or words to this effect. This focus on guilt has become a Left Liberal mantra. It is, however, entirely wrong.

From Slavery to Napoleon to Nazism the British have usually stood first and/or tallest in this world when it has come to confronting tyranny. But what child in today’s British State school system is ever made aware of this?

The Left have brainwashed British society for too long. It is about time the British reclaimed their history from those who have not a clue about anything except a sense of perceived guilt. The legacy of the Left is victimhood.

The legacy of the Victorians, however, is all around us in the form of buildings, communications, faith and so on. The Left have done their level best to ruin Britain. Time for a change. A change to the way things were. Of course, there will be those who will say that, “you cannot put the clock back”. The simple and obvious answer is, “yes you can”.

These words of G.K. Chesterton are more fully explained here:

‘A clock, being a piece of human construction, can be restored by the human finger to any figure or hour. In the same way society being a piece of human construction , can be reconstructed upon any plan that has ever existed. There is another proverb, “As you have made your bed, so you must lie on it”; which again is simply a lie. If I have made my bed uncomfortable, please God I will make it again.”

The Victorians had the confidence to lead the world. They inspired the world. The world of today has grown largely influenced by the Victorians. British Victorians. The Left have, ever since, attempted to make the people of Britain feel guilty for this. It is time to tell the Left where to go.
